Ceridian Offers Certified Payroll Reporting to Hawaiian Contractors
DULUTH, MN (October 20, 2010) – Government contractors throughout Hawaii—including large and small construction firms—that use Ceridian Corporation’s payroll services, can guarantee accuracy and save time and money with a new certified payroll reporting offering. Ceridian’s Hawaiian region has partnered with Points North to expand its federal certified payroll reporting offerings to include state and local-level solutions for companies that receive government funding.
A U.S. federal law, the Davis-Bacon Act of 1931, set wage-rate requirements on public works projects. All contractors and subcontractors who engage in government construction contracts and federally assisted construction projects over $2,000 are required to submit weekly certified payroll reports to ensure government compliance.
A growing number of contractors and subcontractors are subject to the Davis-Bacon Act as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), which provided billions of dollars in government funding for the improvement of the nation’s infrastructure.
Ceridian has partnered with Points North to provide comprehensive and accurate certified payroll reports, including the most frequently required WH-347 Payroll Certification Form, the WH-348 Statement of Compliance Form and the State of Hawaii Department of Accounting and General Services report. Points North’s Certified Payroll Reporting solution allows differentiation between federal and state reports by job, and can generate both union and non-union reports.
“Points North is very excited about this strategic partnership and the benefits it can provide to our mutual clients,” said John Foucault, president and CEO of Points North. “When used with Ceridian, the Points North Certified Payroll Reporting solution allows for the timely delivery of complex, compliance-driven prevailing wage reports. We look forward to rolling out this offering to Ceridian offices nationwide.”
In addition to guaranteed accuracy and convenience, outsourcing payroll and certified payroll reporting with Ceridian and Points North provides customers with the following benefits:
- Increased productivity by eliminating manual, time-intensive processes
- Easy accessibility through the internet
- Operating cost reduction through electronic signature by reducing paper usage and storage costs
- Reporting efficiencies by providing on-line report access for prime contractors
- Quick access to historical reports for editing/auditing
- Reporting flexibility using most-commonly used Federal, State and Municipal forms, including “No Work” report
